They started by projecting an America dangerously distressed in the desperate grip of Barack Obama then they warned of more calamity looming<br />ahead in the guise of crooked Hillary Clinton. Vice-presidential teammate Mike Pence painted a different picture, depicting a hero on the horizon who was ready to save the day.<br /><br />When Trump finally took the stage he saw the darkness everywhere and offered muscular solutions to the nation's demons.
